Belt System Respect
Higher belts have earned their rank through time and dedication. Respect their experience. Ask them questions, accept their coaching, and acknowledge their role in your development.
Instructor Authority
- Arrive on time to class
- Follow all instructional cues
- Ask questions respectfully
Rolling Etiquette
Always bow before rolling. Tap early and enthusiastically when caught. Congratulate your partners on good technique. Create an environment where learning comes first.
Community Building
Attend social events. Support teammates in competitions. Celebrate their wins and help them through losses. Strong gyms have strong communities.
Hierarchy and Progression
Respect the belt system. Don't skip belts or rush promotions. Trust your instructor's judgment on your readiness for advancement.
