Overview
The brabo choke (also called bravo) is a submission from side control using collar control and belt pressure.
Setup from Side Control
From side control, secure a collar grip on the far side. Use your other hand to control their belt or hip, creating maximum pressure.
Grip Mechanics
- Far side collar grip with fingers deep
- Belt or hip control with near side arm
- Drive body weight downward
Finishing Position
Keep your chest pressured into their chest. The combination of collar and hip pressure makes this choke very effective.
Common Escapes
Opponents can defend by bridging, turning away, or creating space with their legs.
